Morgan Wallen Gets Arrested

(RepublicanJournal.org) – Country music star Morgan Wallen spent a few hours in jail after he reportedly threw a chair from the rooftop of a bar. There’s no word on what prompted the reckless move, but the chair reportedly landed a few feet away from two police officers who were on the street below.

Metro Nashville Police Department shared about the early morning arrest on X, the social media platform formerly known as Twitter. It states that officers booked the 30-year-old performer on April 8, adding that Wallen faces three counts of felony reckless endangerment and one misdemeanor count of disorderly conduct. He was released at 3:29 a.m. that same morning on a $15,250 bond.

Former New York prosecutor Rither Alabre told Fox News the combined charges could land Wallen in prison for nearly 7 years. He explains that the chair became a deadly weapon when the performer allegedly hurled it from the rooftop of a Nashville bar, raising the charge to a Class E felony.

No one suffered any injuries as a result of the stunt, so Wallen could still possibly plead down to lower charges despite the gravity of the allegations against him. If he succeeds, he could see his possible sentence reduced to as little as probation.

Wallen had just launched his “One Night at a Time 2024” tour when the incident happened. He, along with fellow performers Nate Smith, Lauren Watkins, and Bailey Zimmerman began their tour on April 4 in Indianapolis, Indiana. Wallen is slated to go to Oxford, Mississippi, later in the month. From there, he will head to California to perform as the headliner at Stagecoach Music Festival. The “One Thing at a Time” singer donates $3 to the Morgan Wallen Foundation for every ticket he sells, providing outreach to his community through music and sports programs.

Wallen began his music career on season six of The Voice. He has produced several hit songs since then and received numerous awards over the past several years. The country performer most recently received ACM (Academy of Country Music) nominations for Entertainer of the Year, Male Artist of the Year, and Artist-Songwriter of the Year.
