(RepublicanJournal.org) – Anna “Chickadee” Cardwell, who rose to fame as the title character’s older sister in the hit reality show “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” has died. She lost a 10-month battle against stage 4 adrenal carcinoma. The reality TV personality, who was just 29 years old, was surrounded by her family when she passed away.
Reality star “Mama June” Shannon posted the tragic news on Instagram on December 10. She wrote that her daughter passed away “peacefully” shortly before midnight, adding that Cardwell had fought valiantly until the end. The grieving mother told fans that she would offer updates as they came and said she appreciated the publics’ thoughts and prayers.
The family got its reality TV start in 2011, when members appeared on the TLC show “Toddlers in Tiaras.” Their antics led to a spinoff show, “Here Comes Honey Boo Boo,” in 2012. The show had four successful seasons, abruptly ending before the fifth season could premiere when Cardwell alleged her mother had used her trust fund money to purchase a car for a child molester who had abused her. She shared the revelation on Facebook and also told her story to People. She said the man had molested her when she was only eight years old, and he spent 10 years in prison for aggravated child molestation before his release in March 2014. Shannon denied any involvement with the man after his release from prison.
Shannon received her own show in 2017, “Mana June: From Not to Hot,” which followed her weight loss journey. The star’s overwhelming transformation ended up being the result of a 25-gram-a-day meth habit, according to Fox News, noting that she spent up to $2,500 daily, sometimes even more, to feed her addiction.
The National Cancer Institute states that adrenal carcinoma is a rare form of cancer that affects the adrenal glands, which are located at the top of the kidneys. A tumor can cause back or abdominal pain and dysfunctions in cortisol, aldosterone, testosterone, and estrogen levels. People with certain genetic conditions are more likely to develop this form of cancer.
