Trump Confirms Six Names on His Vice President List

(RepublicanJournal.org) – Former President Donald Trump, the clear front-runner in the Republican primaries, has confirmed at least six names on his list of possible running mates. The shortlist went public during a recent interview when Fox News host Laura Ingraham named a half-dozen potential candidates. All are “solid” choices according to the MAGA leader:

South Carolina Sen. Tim Scott could be among Trump’s top potential choices. Fox News states that the former president singled out the former primary contender, who sat in the front row while Trump spoke at a recent event. He noted all the buzz involving Scott’s name and called him a “great advocate.”
Entrepreneur Vivek Ramaswamy has also been one of Trump’s biggest supporters. Rumors of his possible campaigning alongside the MAGA leader began after he and his wife, Apoorva, appeared at a recent Mar-a-Lago event and the former president asked the entrepreneur to join him onstage for a short speech.
South Dakota Gov. Kristi Noem also recently appeared as one of Trump’s special guests at a rally in the governor’s home state. While she implied that she would jump at the chance to be the former president’s running mate, a previous statement she made to Fox and Friends — indicating that she didn’t think he had a chance at winning in the general election — could keep her out of the running.
Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis might also have been a real contender after dropping his own pursuit for the primary nomination and endorsing his former rival — and then he opened his mouth again. The Florida governor recently expressed concerns over the possibility that Trump was playing “identity politics” with his vice-presidential picks, prompting Trump adviser Chris LaCivita to call DeSantis a “sad little man.”
Florida Rep. Byron Donalds has been among the conservative lawmakers who’ve supported Trump throughout the criminal allegations against him. He has been particularly vocal about his belief that the former president has been innocent throughout the indictments.
Former Hawaii Rep. Tulsi Gabbard, who left the Democratic party in 2022, recently talked with Trump about foreign policy — hinting at the possibility that he’s considering her for the next term, as well. The Washington Post reports that she might appeal to independent voters, which might give him an added edge in the general election.
