(RepublicanJournal.org) – Former President Donald Trump and Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D-CA) make no bones about the fact that they do not get along. The former House speaker famously ripped up his State of the Union speech while standing behind him on the podium in 2020. Now, the two are exchanging blows once again.
Following the disastrous debate on June 27, where President Joe Biden struggled to answer questions and seemed dazed, many Democrats have been calling for him to step down. However, Pelosi has been skirting questions about his health. In fact, just a few days later, she appeared on CNN, where she spoke with host Dana Bash and said, “There are health care professionals who think that Trump has dementia, that his connection, his thoughts do not go together.” She said it may not even be that he’s lying but that he simply doesn’t know what the truth is.
Pelosi also defended Biden, saying lawmakers have worked with him up close and see that he’s “attuned to” and “informed” of the issues Americans are facing. She acknowledged that the debate was a bad night for him but stressed that Trump was a danger to democracy.
In another incident, she skirted questions. When confronted in the hallway by a reporter, she snapped and said she would not answer questions about Biden or the “fate of our nation.”
Trump didn’t take kindly to Pelosi’s comments about him and tried to turn the tables in a post on TRUTH Social. He called her “more of a cognitive mess” than the president, and she was the true “threat to democracy.”
These comments were made before Biden’s press conference on Thursday, July 11. Once again, he seemed off while standing at the podium and asking questions about whether he believed he could withstand four more years in the office. While Biden answered in the affirmative, he seemed slow and dazed in his appearance and probably ended up casting more doubt on his abilities than not.
