Whistleblower Speaks Out at UFO Hearing

(RepublicanJournal.org) – The question as to whether we’re alone in the universe might be one step closer to a definitive answer. A retired high-ranking military official recently spoke out at a UFO hearing with claims that, if true, would validate reports from witnesses across the world. According to the whistleblower, the United States government has enough evidence in its possession to put any “X-Files” episode to shame.

David Grusch, who served as an intelligence officer in the US Air Force, initially came forward with his allegations in May 2022. He recently reaffirmed to the House Oversight Committee that the government has known about these potentially non-earthly flying objects, now referred to as unidentified anomalous phenomena (UAP), since the 1930s. The former military officer added that officials have worked for decades to diminish and disparage public interest in the matter.

This was the second public hearing Congress held on UAP in 2023. The words of Grusch, who merely collected others’ eyewitness accounts, carry only so much weight. However, the meeting also included testimony from multiple other military personnel who claim to have personally viewed UAP during the course of their duties. One witness, former Navy pilot Ryan Graves, shared that anomalous aircraft go grossly underreported because pilots fear potential negative impacts on their careers. Additionally, the FAA doesn’t have a UAP reporting system, so commercial pilots don’t have anywhere to go, even if they do want to document a sighting.

The stigma surrounding reported close encounters might still remain, but numerous memos from within the Department of Defense suggest the US government takes the issue seriously enough to establish task forces to investigate the threat. A July 2022 press release details the most recent incarnation of the effort, dubbed the All-Domain Anomaly Resolution Office. Worth noting is that the terms “UFO” and “UAP” are absent in the language, although it does include such terms as “anomalous, unidentified space, airborne, submerged and transmedium objects.”
