Trump Vows Immediate Release of JFK Files if Elected

(RepublicanJournal.org) – Trump has promised in his latest announcement that if he’s re-elected, he’ll release all the remaining classified documents about the 1963 assassination of John F. Kennedy.

In October 2017, during his first year in office, President Trump released around 2,800 previously classified documents related to the November 22, 1963, assassination of President John F Kennedy. He didn’t release all the documents, though; at the time he said he had “no choice” but to keep some secret, apparently because the FBI and CIA insisted. In October 2018 Trump went further, setting a three-year deadline for the release of all the remaining files. Unfortunately, that deadline hasn’t been met. President Biden released further batches of files in 2021 and 2022, but some are still classified even now.

On May 15, Trump promised that if he’s re-elected next year, he’ll finally open up the last remaining secret JFK files — and he said he’ll do it “very early in [his] term.” If he gets the chance to do this, it will finally expose everything our government knew about the assassination.

Trump himself is a well-known fan of JFK conspiracy theories. In May 2016, during the battle for the GOP presidential nomination, he told Fox News the father of rival candidate Senator Ted Cruz (R-TX) had been with Oswald “prior to Oswald’s being — you know, shot. That was reported, and nobody talks about it.” Cruz’s campaign blasted the claim, which originated from an article in the National Enquirer, calling it “another garbage story.” It certainly caused a fuss at the time, though.

If Trump wins next year and releases the remaining JFK files, who can say what other new conspiracy theories will be spawned? A lot of us want to know all of the details about what happened that long-ago day in Dealey Plaza.
