Trump Tells Supporters He’s Facing 561 Years in Prison

(RepublicanJournal.org) – Former President Donald Trump reportedly sent out a new email asking his supporters for more funds — but this time, he claims it’s to help him fight a possible 561 years in prison. The notice comes in light of the MAGA leader’s third criminal indictment, following a pattern of donation requests that have come with every move the Department of Justice (DOJ) has made against him.

The Hill shared excerpts from the email Trump sent out on August 2, which reiterates claims that the former president is merely a victim of “witch hunts” led by a “corrupt DOJ.” The statement is in reference to the additional criminal counts Special Counsel Jack Smith filed against him on August 1.

According to a copy of the indictment, Trump stands accused of four new charges: conspiracy to defraud the United States; conspiracy to obstruct an official proceeding; obstruction and attempt to obstruct an official proceeding; and conspiracy against rights.  The DOJ accuses the former leader of making multiple attempts to remain in the Oval Office despite being fully aware that he’d lost the final vote.

The case includes six co-conspirators, all of whom allegedly worked with Trump to seek out legal loopholes and press existing laws that might allow him to remain in office. The 45-page document details efforts the group reportedly made to convince state officials to falsely name Trump their winners. They turned to Vice President Pence next, allegedly asking him to assume power he didn’t have and refuse to certify the results, but he also refused.

Trump, who has remained the GOP frontrunner despite previous indictments, has maintained his innocence, insisting the DOJ’s pursuits are solely to hinder his efforts to take back the White House. He claims officials are going to such lengths because he’s the only person “who can dismantle the Deep State.”
