(RepublicanJournal.org) – Florida Governor Ron DeSantis (R) has been making a lot of waves in the Republican Party of late. So much so, in fact, that many people now regard him as the most likely Republican to claim the presidential nomination in 2024 in place of former President Donald Trump. However, prominent conservative insider and commentator Roger Stone has reminded people that the governor owes all his political relevance to Trump.
During an appearance on Real America’s Voice, with a picture of a young Donald Trump visible in the background, Stone criticized the growing hype behind DeSantis. He stated that an attempt at a presidential run by the governor would be a betrayal of Trump, given the fact the 45th president jumpstarted DeSantis’ career with his endorsement in 2018.
The analyst explained that Trump’s backing had reversed DeSantis’ fortunes in his election battle. He pointed out that the current governor had been polling poorly and struggling to raise campaign funds before the former president tweeted his support and traveled to Florida to campaign on DeSantis’ behalf. Stone went so far as to suggest DeSantis would be employed “at a Dairy Queen” without Trump.

Do you agree with Roger Stone’s take on the Trump v. DeSantis debate? Does the Florida governor owe everything to the former president?
