Republican Says He Would Campaign Against Donald Trump in 2024
(RepublicanJournal.org) – With less than three weeks to go until voters go to the polls for the midterm elections, most politicos are laser-focused on the immediate future. However, some candidates are already looking past this November to the presidential election of 2024. Joe O’Dea, a Republican who’s running for the US Senate in Colorado, says he’ll work against former President Donald Trump if the latter decides to run for the White House again.
During an appearance on CNN’s “State of the Union” on Sunday, October 16, O’Dea listed his issues with the 45th president and committed to campaigning for whoever ended up running against him. The Colorado Republican was especially critical of Trump’s actions during the January 6, 2021, riot at the Capitol, stating the former president should have done more to stop the violence.

O’Dea is currently facing an uphill battle to win election to the Senate in his home state. Incumbent Senator Michael Bennet (D) currently leads the Republican by nearly eight points, according to a poll aggregation from FiveThirtyEight.
Other than Trump, the Republicans currently most likely to win a presidential nomination in 2024 include Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis, former South Carolina Gov. Nikki Haley, and former Vice President Mike Pence.
Do you think any anti-Trump candidate has a realistic chance of claiming the GOP nomination for the presidential election in 2024?
