(RepublicanJournal.org) – Former President Donald Trump pleaded not guilty at Washington’s federal courthouse on August 3, responding to the most recent criminal charges the Department of Justice (DOJ) has brought against him. Rep. Nancy Pelosi, who previously served as Speaker of the House, took a cheap shot at the MAGA leader, telling MSNBC reporter Andrea Mitchell that she “saw a scared puppy” when she watched him go from his car to the court building.
Pelosi noted that she wasn’t present in the courtroom when Trump appeared for the arraignment. What she did witness, however, was enough to convince her that he was worried, with his demeanor appearing far more humble than usual. She insisted that the former president should now “face the music,” according to The Hill. Pelosi had appointed the House Select Committee that opened the initial investigations against the GOP frontrunner.
Trump blasted Special Counsel Jack Smith in an August 07 Truth Social post, slamming the DOJ’s judge assignment — Justice Tanya Chutkan, an Obama-era appointee who developed a reputation for throwing the book at January 6 Capitol rioters. The federal judge was reportedly chosen at random, but the 45th commander in chief isn’t convinced that her placement isn’t part of an orchestrated effort to take him down for good. He demanded on August 6 that Chutkan recuse herself from the case, which he also wants moved from Washington, DC.
Trump has maintained his innocence throughout the various charges against him and has accused the White House of weaponizing the DOJ. He claims progressive officials are targeting him because he’s the only person who can take down the left-wing Deep State.
