Netanyahu Warns of Assassination Threats One Day After Trump Gets Shot

(RepublicanJournal.org) – On Saturday, July 13, the world watched in horror as former President Donald Trump survived an assassination attempt. In the wake of this political violence, another country’s leader is warning that the same could happen to him.

On Sunday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu warned his Cabinet that he faces the very same dangers that Trump did. In a message to the body, he said that “nothing tangible has been done,” about the “explicit threats of murder and violence” facing him. Netanyahu called for condemnation of the acts, particularly from lawmakers of opposing factions.

The Israeli PM also notes that the intensity of the protests facing him has increased since he returned to office in November 2022. He notes that the demonstrations are always against the Right, are increasing in intensity, and enforcement of these events “is not equal.”

Government officials have spoken out about the threats surrounding Netanyahu as well. Shlomo Karhi, the Communications minister, said the violence against Trump followed “unending incitement against him,” something Israel is experiencing as well. He says the situation in his country “is doubly serious.” Diaspora Affairs Minister Amichai Chikli echoed the sentiments, saying Netanyahu is experiencing much of the same but law enforcement isn’t doing anything about it because of the protestors’ politics.

In the US, political tensions are at an all-time high. Extremist wings of both parties have been escalating matters and political infighting is sowing division. Former President Donald Trump narrowly escaped the assassination attempt, which happened while he was speaking at a campaign rally in Pennsylvania. The shooter was killed, but there are many questions surrounding the incident, such as the role of the Secret Service, and involvement in local law enforcement over special tactical forces.

Trump didn’t let the attempt on his life keep him from doing business as usual. He showed up at the RNC convention on July 15, where he named Ohio Senator JD Vance as his running mate.
