Karine Jean-Pierre Snaps After Being Accused of “Babying” Biden

(RepublicanJournal.org) – White House Press Secretary Karine Jean-Pierre snapped at Fox News reporter Peter Doocy after he referred to rumors that President Joe Biden’s staff babied him. The reporter referenced a newly released book that details the first two years of the current presidency and alleged the commander in chief had complained about being “treated like a toddler.”

Jean-Pierre refused to address the observation according to Fox News. Instead, she asserted that books emerge with every administration, and they all contain various claims. The press secretary said she wasn’t going to argue over the quote, adding that Doocy had used the excerpt in question, taken from Franklin Foer’s “The Last Politician: Inside Joe Biden’s White House and the Struggle for America’s Future,” out of context. Instead, she insisted it praised the president’s “experience and wisdom” in his fight “against authoritarianism.”

The book does indeed pat Biden on the back for managing to succeed in pushing as many progressive goals as he has. It also takes a critical look at his administration and the mistakes the US leader has made, detailing the botched US withdrawal from Afghanistan. POLITICO wrote in its review that the book offered a wealth of information for all readers, regardless of how they felt about Biden. Foer is an authority on political news, having edited The New Republic for seven years and also working as a staff writer for The Atlantic.

Whereas Jean-Pierre might be quick to brush off comments about Biden’s age and any accommodations White House staff might make to work around him, there’s no denying that Democrats are taking a major gamble by backing the 80-year-old for another term. He’s made numerous public trips and stumbles over recent months, and a growing number of voters reportedly worry about both the president’s physical health and his mental stability.

A recent hypothetical matchup between Biden and former president Donald Trump had the commander in chief leading with only 49% of the country’s support. Trump was close behind with 45% of the vote.
