House GOP Hoping McCarthy Follows Through on Biden Impeachment Threat

( – House Speaker Kevin McCarthy (R-CA) dropped a bombshell on July 24 when he told Fox News’s Sean Hannity that enough evidence might exist to warrant an impeachment inquiry into President Joe Biden. The interview stoked an explosive response from the GOP, with many conservative House members now hoping the California Republican follows through with his threat.

Fox News reports that conservatives are so fired up that Rep. Ralph Norman (R-SC) warns of a possible “uprising” if the House drops the matter. He points to the FD 1023 Sen. Chuck Grassley (R-IA) and Rep. James Comer (R-KY) publicly released, which revealed allegations of corruption against the president and his son, Hunter Biden.

The document details interactions, dating as far back as 2015 or 2016, between the informant, the Bidens, and Mykofa Zlochevsky, the CEO and founder of Ukrainian energy company Burisma Holdings. The unnamed whistleblower, referred to as “CHS” in the FD 1023, alleges Joe and Hunter Biden worked together to coerce Zlochevsky into paying them each $5 million. The money allegedly served to “protect” the business from an investigation, during which time President Joe Biden smeared the investigator, Ukraine’s then-Prosecutor General Viktor Shokin, for being “corrupt.” Shokin left office during that same window, pressed to resign.

Hunter Biden, who had no experience in oil or energy production, had reportedly joined Burisma’s board solely to insulate the business as it attempted to purchase a US oil company. The CHS alleges that the Ukrainian natural gas company brought him on as an additional advisor because Zlochevsky viewed Hunter Biden as incredibly “stupid,” stating that his dog was more intelligent. The Ukrainian businessman apparently felt he could outsmart the IRS, too; the FD 1023 also includes allegations that Zlochevsky said he routed the Bidens’ payments so well that investigators would need “10 years to find the records.”

Norman and other GOP members believe the Bidens have gotten away with a serious miscarriage of justice. Norman and others believe the president and numerous administration officials need to answer for their crimes.
