Former Jill Biden Aide Takes Shots at Her Husband

(RepublicanJournal.org) – President Joe Biden is 81 years old, the oldest to ever hold office in the United States. Over the past few years, his mental acuity has been repeatedly called into question, particularly because of his many gaffes and perceived difficulty expressing what he wants to say. That was once again called into question during the June 27 debate when it seemed Biden had trouble stringing a sentence together. Now, one of First Lady Jill Biden’s former aides is taking shots at the president.

Michael LaRosa was the first lady’s press secretary from 2021 to 2022. During that time, he had regular access to the Bidens. He recently spoke with Peter Baker for a piece in The New York Times and said one of the president’s superpowers is “relatability,” but because “everything looks and feels so choreographed, scripted and controlled … it doesn’t afford him the opportunities to show off his strengths.”

LaRosa said those are his “humor, empathy, and compassion.” He continued, noting that the president is relatable, but without exposing his humanity, which includes “flaws [and] mistakes,” he doesn’t appear so.

In his article in the Times, Baker points out that many things are working against Biden, and his age is the most prominent. Sometimes, as many people do, Baker says, the president catches himself making errors and corrects them in the moment. Other times, they go unaddressed, something the journalist says both Biden and former President Donald Trump are guilty of.

Baker went further into details about Biden’s effectiveness, saying that despite his outward appearance, aides confirmed that he is very much involved and understanding of the issues, and expects that whomever he sits down with best be prepared because, as Dr. Anthony Fauci says, “you don’t want to wing it with him.”

Rep. James Clyburn (D-SC) said Biden isn’t as animated these days, but doesn’t think it’s an age thing, but rather a subconscious effort to play it safe.
