Dominican Politician’s Son Shot and Killed

(RepublicanJournal.org) – The son of a Dominican Republic politician appears to have been targeted in Houston, Texas, when assailants opened fire at a gas station. The young man was shot and killed in the incident and one other person was left in critical condition. Two other people were with the victims during the attack, but they both managed to survive without any injuries.

The Houston Police Department issued a press release on April 2 detailing the event. It states that officers responded to a call at 2490 South Wayside Dr. on April 1 at roughly 8:20 p.m., finding two men who had been shot. Paramedics with the Houston Fire Department responded as well, but one of the victims was pronounced dead at the hospital. The second was admitted with life-threatening injuries.

Police state that the two victims were returning to their Black SUV after briefly going into a convenience store when a silver Dodge Charger and a silver Mercedes Benz drove up to their vehicle. Two suspects emerged from the Dodge, and a third got out of the Mercedes, all armed with long guns. The three men opened fire, prompting the two victims to run back toward the store.

Authorities identified the deceased man as 34-year-old Luis Alfredo Pacheco Rojas, a rapper who went by the handle El Pikante. He was also the son of Alfredo Pacheco, who serves in the Dominican Republic as president of the Chamber of Duties. The grieving father shared on X, formerly known as Twitter, that his son had been living outside the country at the time of his death and added that the case was still under investigation.

Police describe the suspects as Hispanic men in their 20s or 30s. One has a prominent neck tattoo. Officials are offering a $5,000 reward for any information that will bring the killers to justice. Tipsters can call local Crime Stoppers at 713-222-8477.
