Detransitioner Blasts Neil DeGrasse Tyson for Defending Transgenderism

(RepublicanJournal.org) – Mythinformed recently shared a video on Twitter in which Neil DeGrasse Tyson defended gender ideology with a bizarre and backward argument. The clip prompted a verbal attack from detransitioned woman Chloe Cole, who slammed the American astrophysicist for promoting gender stereotypes and confusing the issue.

Cole, who testified in front of Congress during a July 27 Judiciary Committee hearing on the impacts of so-called gender-affirming care, is as close to the controversy as any one person can get. The New York Post reports that the young woman had believed throughout much of her childhood that she’d been born the wrong gender, but now she feels that she was the victim of a massive scandal.

She asked lawmakers to end medical interventions in children, insisting such actions destroyed her childhood and left her with irreversible damage. Cole called the entire ordeal a “nightmare” and — noting her prominent Adam’s apple, masculine facial features, and mastectomy scars — stated that sometimes she sees a “monster” when she looks in the mirror.

Tyson had asserted in his video that gender came on a “spectrum,” insisting that a person could “feel 80% female, 20% male” one day and vice-versa the next. But to elaborate on his points, the astrophysicist noted that he might wear make-up on days he felt more female, opting instead for a muscle shirt on days when he felt predominantly male. Daily Caller reports that Cole called out Tyson for promoting the fuzzy ideology and pushing the notion that males and females each normally expressed their genders by using outdated, stereotypical markers like lipstick and tank tops.

Cole began hormonal intervention, under the advice and observation of specialists, when she was 13 years old. She underwent a double mastectomy at just 15. The regretful young woman is just one of a growing number of people who’ve undergone drastic gender-affirming care for gender dysphoria and later realized they’d made a mistake.
