“I think the pressure is building for Hamas to come to yes, and I think Israel also has achieved a huge amount of its military objectives in Gaza, and therefore, they are in a position to be able to say ‘yes’,” said U.S. national security adviser Jake Sullivan.
The second phase of negotiations will address the release of remaining hostages in exchange for a complete Israeli withdrawal from Gaza. The third phase involves the return of the bodies of remaining hostages in exchange for a reconstruction plan for Gaza under international supervision.
