(RepublicanJournal.org) – Republican presidential candidate Vivek Ramaswamy recently made an appearance in Iowa, where a couple of liberal protestors hammered him about his proposed conservative policies on schools and children. A subsequent vehicle accident left the Republican candidate with hundreds of dollars in damage to his car, and he insists the protestors are to blame.
Ramaswamy shared on X, the platform formerly known as Twitter, that he engaged with protestors in a “civil exchange” over US schools. His post claims the interaction, which Daily Mail reporter Katelyn Caralle was present to record, occurred right before the two individuals got into their car.
Ramaswamy says the vehicle immediately backed into his, colliding with it, and he insists the impact was no accident. Caralle posted photographs of the damage afterward, which she claims would cost each party an estimated $600 to fix. The ultra-conservative primary hopeful notes that most of the protestors were there peacefully, and he only felt the two in the vehicle deserved to be punished.
Brianne Pfannenstiel, chief politics reporter for the Des Moines Register, posted a copy of the Grinnell Police Department’s media release on the matter. It states that the department investigated Ramaswamy’s allegations and couldn’t find any evidence to back his claims. The notice states that the driver, 22-year-old Celia Meagher, didn’t attempt to flee the scene, telling police in her statement that she had no idea the car she’d hit had been the presidential candidate’s. The woman also claimed she hadn’t been there to protest.
Ramaswamy fired back, rejecting the official narrative. He asked social media users to imagine the roles were reversed, and the perpetrator had been “a guy wearing a MAGA hat.” If said individual flipped off a liberal politician, honked their horn at the person, and then backed into their car with enough force to cause damage, “they’d be just as eager to call it an unrelated accident, right?”
